1930 Protogerakis Evangelos, creates the family’s first olive oil factory, in the small, traditional village of Kamares, where he was born. Dedicated to the production of supreme category extra virgin olive oil, he had upgraded his unit several times through years and had adopted all the known innovations in the production of olive oil, till 1973, when the company started further expansion and development.
1973 The factory is transported to the region Voroi of Heraklion, close to the ancient city of Phaestos, in a new rejuvenating building unit and it is also equipped with the best machinery known so far.
1989 The business adopts the latest technology in equipment with the supply of a centrifugal machinery and creates new storage facilities.
1995 Further modernization of the company, with a semiautomatic unit of standardization.
1998 Radical change of the production unit.
2005 New pioneering, fully modernization of the company, made by investments of Vangelis and Michael Protogerakis, grandsons of the company’s founder.
Today the company possesses rejuvenating olive press, super modern storage facilities along with a fully automated bottling unit, all of them placed in a totally upgraded building unit. In addition, “Protogerakis Emm. Sons” company produces supreme category extra virgin olive oil under the sum of national standards of production and food standardization. |
